It’s Still Your House, Right?

Letting Without Losing Control

Hi there, I’m Claire, founder of Cotswold Cottage Retreats.

If you’re anything like most of the homeowners I speak to, the idea of letting out your cottage sounds brilliant in theory… until you start looking into how it all works and realise, hang on, do I actually get a say in any of this?

And I get it. You’ve worked hard for your home, whether it’s a cosy village bolthole or a bigger family place with a cracking view. The last thing you want is to feel like you’re handing over the keys and losing control.

So let me set the record straight.
Yes, it’s still your home. And with us, it always will be.

We don’t do complicated contracts.
There are no long-term commitments or agency agreements with confusing small print. Our support is there if and when you want it. You’re never tied down unless you choose to be.

You can block off dates whenever it suits you.
Want a long weekend with the family? Planning a full summer getaway? Go ahead. You decide when it’s available. We’ll never pressure you to let more often or follow a set schedule.

You’ll be kept in the loop, but never overloaded.
Some homeowners like regular updates. Others just want to hear from us when something needs attention. We adapt to how much you want to be involved, so you’re always informed but never overwhelmed.

You don’t have to lift a finger unless you want to.
We take care of everything - guest bookings, communication, cleaning, laundry, and even hampers. We work with Crease Releaser for laundry and Wild Thyme for beautifully presented hampers, both trusted local partners. But if you’d like to be involved in the details, like pricing or decor decisions, that’s always your call.

Letting your cottage shouldn’t feel like a second job. And it definitely shouldn’t feel like handing it over to someone else. At CCR, we’re here to make life easier. We take care of the moving parts while you stay in control. This only works when you feel confident, supported, and comfortable with how everything is being run. That’s what we’re here for.

If you’ve been on the fence, unsure if this is the right step for your property, I hope this has helped give you some clarity. And if you ever fancy a chat over a cuppa to talk through what it might look like for you, I’m always happy to meet.

Warm wishes,
Claire
